Most YouTube monetization checkers answer only one narrow question: does this channel look monetized from the outside?
That is not the same as asking:
- Has YouTube officially approved my channel?
- Does another creator appear to be earning ad revenue?
- Does my channel meet the public eligibility thresholds?
- Is my content likely to pass YouTube’s policy review?
A checker can estimate some of these. It cannot reliably answer all four.
The best YouTube monetization checker in 2026 depends on what you are actually trying to verify. For your own channel, YouTube Studio is the only authoritative source. For competitor research, the strongest third-party tools combine multiple public signals and explain their uncertainty instead of presenting a guess as fact.
This guide compares the best YouTube monetization checker tools available now, explains what their results really mean, and gives you a practical channel audit you can complete before applying to the YouTube Partner Program.
Key Takeaways
- YouTube Studio is the only official monetization checker for your own channel.
- Third-party tools can estimate another channel’s status, but YouTube does not provide them with the channel owner’s private YPP dashboard.
- Subscriber counts are public. Valid watch hours, qualifying Shorts views, policy history, AdSense status, and the final YPP decision are not fully public.
- Seeing ads on a video does not prove that the uploader receives the revenue.
- Reaching the numerical thresholds lets you apply. It does not guarantee approval.
- The most useful checker shows its evidence, confidence level, and limitations.
- The real objective is not merely reaching 1,000 subscribers. It is building an original channel that can pass review and continue growing after monetization.
Best YouTube Monetization Checker Tools: Quick Verdict
| Tool | Best For | What It Checks | Main Limitation |
|---|---|---|---|
| YouTube Studio Earn | Official status of your own channel | Private eligibility progress, application status, YPP access | Cannot inspect competitors |
| Mega Creative Monetization Checker | Evidence-based competitor checks inside YouTube | Ads, visible YPP features, rights signals, confidence score | Browser extension and still an estimate |
| Viddar Monetization Checker | Fast channel status checks without logging in | Recent long-form video signals and public player data | Cached results and weaker coverage for Shorts-only channels |
| NicheProwler Monetization Checker | Monetization readiness planning | Public thresholds, checklist, readiness and risk signals | Cannot see private watch-hour data |
| Is This Channel Monetized | Channel statistics and monetization research | Public channel data, visible YPP clues, revenue estimates | Revenue and status remain estimates |
| YTface Monetization Checker | Understanding both YPP tiers | Public data, visible monetization features, confidence rating | Cannot officially confirm approval |
| WildandFree Monetization Checker | Transparent subscriber-threshold checks | Subscribers, views, video count and public YPP gate | Does not attempt to confirm full YPP status |
| WatanNetwork Monetization Checker | Video-level advertising and compliance research | Ad signals, restrictions, made-for-kids status and estimates | Video advertising does not prove uploader revenue |
| LenosTube Monetization Checker | Simple one-field channel checks | A monetized or not-monetized verdict | Its certainty claims should be treated cautiously |
What Is a YouTube Monetization Checker?
A YouTube monetization checker is a tool that attempts to determine whether a channel or video:
- meets common YouTube Partner Program thresholds
- appears to have access to YPP features
- displays public advertising or monetization signals
- is likely to be earning revenue
- has enough public performance data to be considered monetization-ready
The word checker can be misleading because different tools check completely different things.
One tool may only verify that a channel has at least 1,000 subscribers. Another may inspect recent videos for advertising signals. Another may look for a Join button, Super Thanks, a Store tab, or other visible features associated with YPP access.
These methods are useful, but none gives an outside observer complete access to a creator’s private YouTube Studio account.
The Best YouTube Monetization Checkers in 2026
1. YouTube Studio Earn: Best Official Monetization Checker
YouTube Studio is the best monetization checker for your own channel because it is the source that actually controls your eligibility and application.
Open YouTube Studio and select Earn from the left menu. Depending on your channel and location, the page can show:
- subscriber progress
- valid public watch-hour progress
- valid public Shorts-view progress
- whether you can apply
- whether your application is under review
- whether YouTube requires another action
- which monetization modules are available
- whether monetization has been approved, suspended, or removed
This is the critical distinction: YouTube Studio does not estimate whether your channel qualifies. It displays the status attached to your account.
Best for
- Checking your own eligibility
- Tracking progress toward YPP
- Applying for monetization
- Confirming whether your application is under review
- Understanding which monetization features you can access
Main weakness
You cannot use YouTube Studio to inspect another creator’s private eligibility, watch hours, YPP decision, or earnings.
Verdict
Use YouTube Studio before trusting any third-party result. Every external checker should be treated as supplementary research.
2. Mega Creative YouTube Monetization Checker: Best for Multiple Public Signals
The Mega Creative YouTube Monetization Checker is a Chrome extension that adds a checking workflow directly to YouTube pages.
According to its Chrome Web Store listing, it combines several types of public evidence:
- advertising detection across recent long-form videos
- visible YouTube Partner Program features
- Join button availability
- Store and Super Thanks signals
- licensed-content and rights signals
- made-for-kids context
- explanations for inconclusive results
- a monetization likelihood score
This is a stronger methodology than tools that rely only on subscriber counts or whether one video displays an ad.
The extension also reports an unknown result when it cannot reach a defensible conclusion. That is a positive feature. A responsible checker should admit uncertainty when a channel only publishes Shorts, has restricted videos, is geo-blocked, or does not expose enough consistent evidence.
Best for
- Competitor research while browsing YouTube
- Channel acquisition due diligence
- Talent and creator screening
- Comparing evidence across multiple channels
- Users who want the reasoning behind the result
Main weakness
It is still an estimate based on public signals. Only YouTube and the account owner can see the official payout and YPP status.
You must also install a browser extension, which may not suit users who prefer a simple web-based checker.
Verdict
Mega Creative is one of the most detailed options for checking other channels because it presents multiple signals rather than treating a single clue as proof.
3. Viddar Monetization Checker: Best Fast, No-Login Checker
The Viddar YouTube Monetization Checker accepts a channel URL, handle, or video link and returns a monetized or not-monetized verdict.
Viddar says it analyzes public player data attached to recent long-form videos. Its biggest advantage is not merely speed. It clearly publishes the limitations of its process.
Those limitations include:
- results may be cached
- recently changed statuses may not appear immediately
- Shorts-only channels are harder to verify
- ads and channel monetization are not the same thing
- the tool is not affiliated with YouTube
That transparency makes the result easier to interpret.
Best for
- Fast competitor checks
- Users who do not want to create an account
- Checking several channel URLs manually
- Initial channel-buying research
- Separating monetization status from estimated earnings
Main weakness
A binary answer can still make an uncertain result feel more definitive than it is. Cached results also make Viddar less suitable when a channel has just joined or left YPP.
Verdict
Viddar is a strong first-pass checker. Use it to form a hypothesis, then verify that hypothesis using visible YPP features and at least one second source.
4. NicheProwler Monetization Eligibility Checker: Best for Readiness Planning
The NicheProwler YouTube Monetization Eligibility Checker focuses more on readiness than definitive status.
It compares public channel metrics against commonly referenced YPP thresholds and can provide:
- subscriber-threshold checks
- an eligibility checklist
- readiness signals
- risk indicators
- contextual category analysis
- explanations of unavailable data
Most importantly, NicheProwler acknowledges that watch hours are not publicly available and must be omitted or inferred.
That makes it useful for planning, particularly when you want to understand how close a public channel appears to monetization without pretending that public data reveals everything.
Best for
- Pre-application planning
- Tracking public progress
- Auditing smaller channels
- Studying monetization readiness by niche
- Understanding which requirements remain private
Main weakness
It cannot confirm whether the channel has enough valid public watch hours, qualifying Shorts views, an active AdSense account, advanced-feature access, or a successful policy review.
Verdict
Choose NicheProwler when the question is “How monetization-ready does this channel appear?” rather than “Can you prove this creator receives revenue?”
5. Is This Channel Monetized: Best for Data-Rich Channel Research
Is This Channel Monetized combines monetization research with broader channel and video statistics.
Its public tool documentation says it uses the YouTube Data API to retrieve information such as:
- total public channel views
- public video count
- subscriber count
- channel creation date
- channel country
- video duration
- likes and comments
- video categories
- tags
- made-for-kids status
- estimated revenue ranges
The site also explains that YouTube removed a previously visible monetization flag from channel-page source code in November 2023. Its newer process therefore relies on indirect signs such as memberships and patterns across monetized videos.
That historical explanation matters because some older monetization-checking guides still recommend searching page source for a flag that is no longer consistently available.
Best for
- Researchers who want more than a yes-or-no answer
- Public channel and video statistics
- Revenue scenario estimates
- Competitor benchmarking
- Understanding the difference between old and current checking methods
Main weakness
Estimated revenue is not actual creator revenue. Public views do not reveal private RPM, ad fill, audience geography, revenue splits, claims, or sponsor income.
Its monetization result should also be treated as an informed estimate rather than official confirmation.
Verdict
This is one of the better educational resources in the category because it explains why monetization checks became less certain after YouTube changed the public data available to outside tools.
6. YTface Monetization Checker: Best for Understanding YPP’s Two Tiers
The YTface Monetization Checker combines a channel checker with a useful explanation of YouTube’s two monetization stages.
Its interface and guide cover:
- public channel analysis
- the lower expanded-YPP threshold
- the full advertising-revenue threshold
- visible signs such as Join, Super Thanks and Shopping
- a low, medium, or high confidence indicator
- estimated rather than official confirmation
The confidence indicator is important because monetization status is rarely a clean public yes-or-no question.
Best for
- Creators confused about the two YPP tiers
- Checking visible fan-funding signals
- Evaluating public eligibility indicators
- Distinguishing early YPP access from full ad-revenue eligibility
Main weakness
The tool cannot see every private requirement it discusses. A confidence score is not the same as a result from the YouTube Studio Earn page.
Verdict
YTface is especially useful for education. It helps creators understand that joining the expanded YPP at the lower threshold is not identical to unlocking full advertising revenue sharing.
7. WildandFree Monetization Checker: Best for Transparent Public-Data Checks
The WildandFree YouTube Monetization Checker takes a deliberately narrow approach.
It checks public information such as:
- subscriber count
- total channel views
- public video count
- whether the channel passes the public 1,000-subscriber gate
The tool explicitly says it cannot see private watch hours or qualifying Shorts-view analytics.
That means it is less ambitious than some competitors, but also less likely to confuse a public threshold check with official monetization approval.
Best for
- Simple public channel checks
- Verifying the subscriber requirement
- Users who value clear limitations
- Competitor lists and spreadsheets
- Early-stage monetization research
Main weakness
It does not tell you whether the channel passed YouTube’s policy review or whether it currently receives ad revenue.
Verdict
WildandFree is useful because it checks what public data can actually support. It does not try to manufacture certainty from unavailable metrics.
8. WatanNetwork Monetization Checker: Best for Video-Level Checks
The WatanNetwork Monetization Checker is more video-focused than most channel eligibility tools.
Its public page says it can report:
- advertising status
- age restrictions
- made-for-kids status
- regional restrictions
- estimated revenue
- ad-format information
- estimated ad-break positions
- other public compliance data
This can be useful for brand-safety reviews, video-level research, and understanding why a specific upload behaves differently from the rest of a channel.
Best for
- Individual video analysis
- Brand-safety research
- Regional restriction checks
- Made-for-kids context
- Advertising and ad-break research
Main weakness
A video displaying ads does not prove that the channel owner receives the revenue. YouTube may serve ads on content outside YPP, and a copyright owner may monetize a claimed video.
Verdict
Use WatanNetwork when your research concerns a particular video, not when you need an authoritative decision about the channel owner’s YPP account.
9. LenosTube Monetization Checker: Best for a Quick Second Opinion
The LenosTube Channel Monetization Checker offers a simple input field and an immediate monetized or not-monetized verdict.
Its interface is easy to use, making it attractive when you need to check a channel quickly.
However, its public explanation still describes reading a true-or-false value from YouTube’s channel-page source code and presents the result as completely accurate. That deserves caution because YouTube removed the widely used public is_monetization_enabled flag in 2023.
Best for
- Fast manual checks
- A second opinion after using another checker
- Users who want a basic interface
- Quick competitor triage
Main weakness
Treat any claim of 100% external accuracy skeptically. YouTube does not give third-party websites full access to a creator’s private monetization dashboard.
The site also promotes services related to buying watch hours and monetized channels. Those shortcuts should not replace legitimate audience growth, original content, or compliance with YouTube policies.
Verdict
LenosTube can be used as an additional data point, but it should not be your only source for monetization due diligence.
How Accurate Are YouTube Monetization Checkers?
Accuracy depends on what the checker claims to measure.
A tool can accurately retrieve a public subscriber count. It cannot use that number alone to prove that the channel passed YouTube’s review.
A useful way to judge any result is through an evidence ladder.
| Evidence Level | Example | What It Can Tell You |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1: Official account data | YouTube Studio Earn page | Your real eligibility, application and YPP status |
| Level 2: Strong visible YPP signals | Join, Super Thanks, Store or other enabled features | The channel likely has access to relevant YPP features |
| Level 3: Multiple public technical signals | Ads, rights signals, recent-video sampling and confidence analysis | The channel appears likely to be monetized |
| Level 4: Public eligibility metrics | Subscribers, views and uploads | The channel may meet part of the application threshold |
| Level 5: Revenue estimates | Views multiplied by assumed RPM | A hypothetical earnings range, not actual income |
The farther down the ladder you go, the less certain the conclusion becomes.
Ads Are Not Proof of Creator Monetization
An ad proves that an ad was served. It does not prove who received the money.
Possible explanations include:
- the uploader is in YPP and enabled advertising
- YouTube placed ads on a video from a non-YPP channel
- a copyright owner claimed and monetized the content
- an ad was served selectively based on viewer, location or inventory
- the uploader is monetized but disabled ads on that particular video
This is why any checker that relies only on whether one video shows an ad is using weak evidence.
Subscriber Counts Are Not Proof Either
A channel can have more than 1,000 subscribers and still be:
- below the valid public watch-hour requirement
- below the qualifying Shorts-view requirement
- located outside an eligible YPP region
- missing two-step verification
- missing advanced-feature access
- carrying an active Community Guidelines strike
- rejected for reused or inauthentic content
- waiting for review
- eligible but choosing not to apply
- previously monetized but later suspended
The threshold is a doorway into review. It is not the final decision.
YouTube Monetization Requirements in 2026
YouTube currently has two relevant entry levels in countries where the expanded YouTube Partner Program is available.
| Access Level | Long-Form Path | Shorts Path | Main Access |
|---|---|---|---|
| Expanded YPP | 500 subscribers, 3 public uploads in 90 days and 3,000 valid public watch hours in 12 months | 500 subscribers, 3 public uploads in 90 days and 3 million valid Shorts views in 90 days | Eligible fan-funding and Shopping features |
| Full Advertising Revenue | 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 valid public watch hours in 12 months | 1,000 subscribers and 10 million valid public Shorts views in 90 days | Advertising and YouTube Premium revenue sharing |
The expanded program is not available in every country, and individual monetization features can have additional requirements. Confirm the current rules in the official YouTube Partner Program eligibility guide and the expanded YPP overview.
Channels must also satisfy requirements including:
- compliance with YouTube channel monetization policies
- residence in an eligible country or region
- no active Community Guidelines strikes
- two-step verification
- access to advanced YouTube features
- an active AdSense for YouTube account, or readiness to create one through YouTube Studio
Meeting the subscriber and viewing thresholds does not override these requirements.
What YouTube Reviews Before Approving a Channel
YouTube reviews the channel as a whole.
According to YouTube’s channel monetization policies, reviewers may focus on areas including:
- the channel’s main theme
- its most-viewed videos
- its newest videos
- the videos producing the largest proportion of watch time
- titles, thumbnails and descriptions
- the channel’s About section
- whether the content is original and authentic
- whether videos feel mass-produced, repetitive or interchangeable
This creates an important strategic lesson.
A channel can hit every numerical threshold and still fail because its content does not demonstrate enough original value. Another channel can use a repeatable format and pass because every video delivers materially different substance, analysis, storytelling, education or entertainment.
Consistency is not the problem. Interchangeability is.
For a deeper breakdown of that distinction, read the OverseerOS YouTube Reused Content Checker guide.
The 10-Minute YouTube Monetization Readiness Audit
Use this audit before applying, even when YouTube Studio says you have reached the threshold.
Step 1: Check the Official Earn Page
Open YouTube Studio and verify:
- your eligible subscriber count
- valid public watch hours or Shorts views
- application availability
- account actions still required
- whether YouTube has flagged a policy or setup issue
Do not use a public checker to replace this step.
Step 2: Audit the Videos YouTube Is Most Likely to Notice
Review:
- Your five most-viewed videos
- Your five newest videos
- The videos responsible for the most watch time
- Any compilation, reaction, clip-based or AI-assisted uploads
- Any video that looks substantially different from the rest of the channel
Ask:
- Is the creator’s contribution obvious?
- Does each video deliver original commentary, education, analysis or entertainment?
- Could a reviewer understand how the content was produced?
- Are third-party materials substantially transformed?
- Does the video offer more than narration over lightly edited material?
- Would several uploads feel interchangeable if watched consecutively?
Step 3: Inspect the Channel-Level Story
Your channel should communicate a coherent identity.
Check whether:
- the About section explains what you create
- your titles match the actual content
- thumbnails do not misrepresent the videos
- descriptions provide context rather than copied filler
- your recent uploads support the same clear channel purpose
- your branding makes the channel look deliberately produced
- viewers can tell what original value you add
Step 4: Separate Copyright From Reused Content
These are related, but not identical.
A video can avoid a copyright claim and still be considered reused content. Permission from the original owner also does not automatically make a minimally changed upload eligible for monetization.
Conversely, transformed commentary, criticism, education, reactions and analysis may satisfy YouTube’s reused-content policy while still requiring separate copyright consideration.
Do not reduce the audit to “Did I receive a claim?”
The better question is:
Can a reviewer clearly see the original creative, educational or entertainment value I contributed?
Step 5: Look for Mass-Production Signals
AI tools are not automatically disqualifying. The risk appears when the output feels generic, repetitive or produced from a template with little meaningful variation.
Audit for:
- identical story structure across every upload
- repeated introductions with only keywords changed
- generic AI narration with no distinct perspective
- image slideshows with minimal analysis
- reused footage that carries most of the video’s value
- repeated thumbnails and titles that overpromise the same idea
- scripts that could be transferred to another channel without changing anything
- videos created primarily to fill a publishing quota
Step 6: Document Your Production Process
Keep records of:
- original scripts
- research notes
- voiceover files
- editing timelines
- licenses
- source links
- thumbnail project files
- creative briefs
- commentary or analysis added to third-party material
You may never be asked to submit all of it, but documentation forces you to understand whether your workflow is genuinely original.

How OverseerOS Helps You Build a Channel Worth Monetizing
A monetization checker can tell you whether a channel appears to have crossed a threshold. It cannot build the content system that gets you there.
That requires finding subjects people already watch, understanding why successful videos perform, and turning those insights into original content.
OverseerOS Channel Blueprint Cloner transforms a public YouTube channel into a structured strategy blueprint. It identifies patterns such as:
- tone DNA
- hook approaches
- pacing
- viral topic formulas
- keywords and tags
- hidden strategic patterns
- untapped topic opportunities
The objective is not to duplicate another creator’s videos. It is to understand the strategy underneath the results and adapt it into an original channel.
OverseerOS Viral YouTube Channel Finder helps creators discover breakout channels in a niche using public YouTube signals. You can examine the channels and actual breakout videos that are gaining traction, instead of assuming that the biggest established creator represents the only viable model.
OverseerOS Channel Analyzer can then help you study:
- channel growth patterns
- content strategy
- upload frequency
- engagement signals
- top-performing content
- recurring performance patterns
Once the opportunity is clear, OverseerOS Script Studio helps turn your angle into an original script workflow, while OverseerOS Thumbnail Analyzer helps evaluate composition, visual psychology, emotional triggers and click-through clarity.
The smarter workflow is:
- Find channels and videos already proving audience demand.
- Reverse-engineer the pattern, not the finished content.
- Identify what the existing videos missed.
- Build a distinct angle and original script.
- Create packaging that accurately communicates your promise.
- Publish, measure and refine the pattern.
That approach is stronger than starting from a random AI prompt and producing ten interchangeable videos.
You can reverse-engineer high-performing YouTube patterns with OverseerOS and turn them into an original research, planning and creation workflow.
Which Monetization Checker Should You Choose?
Use this decision framework.
You are checking your own channel
Use YouTube Studio Earn.
No external tool is more authoritative.
You are checking whether a competitor is likely monetized
Start with:
- Mega Creative
- Viddar
- Is This Channel Monetized
Compare the evidence rather than relying on one verdict.
You want to know whether a channel meets public thresholds
Use:
- NicheProwler
- WildandFree
- YTface
Remember that public thresholds do not reveal final approval.
You are inspecting a particular video
Use WatanNetwork, then review the video manually for:
- advertising
- restrictions
- claims
- visible YPP features
- channel-wide context
You are evaluating a channel to buy, sponsor or represent
Do not rely on a free checker alone.
Request owner-authorized evidence such as:
- current YouTube Studio Earn screenshots
- current revenue analytics
- traffic sources
- copyright and strike status
- AdSense payment evidence
- audience geography
- returning-viewer trends
- recent monetization notices
- documentation showing how the content is produced
A public checker is a lead, not due diligence.
Common Monetization Checker Mistakes
Mistaking “Eligible” for “Approved”
Eligibility means the channel can apply. Approval requires a channel review.
Assuming Ads Mean the Creator Gets Paid
Ads can appear when YouTube or a rights holder receives the revenue.
Treating Revenue Estimates as Financial Records
A calculator cannot see the channel’s real RPM, claims, ad fill, geography or revenue mix.
Ignoring the Lower YPP Tier
The expanded YPP can provide earlier access to certain fan-funding and Shopping features. It does not automatically unlock full ad-revenue sharing.
Checking Only Subscriber Count
Subscribers represent one visible threshold. They reveal nothing definitive about watch hours, Shorts views, strikes, AdSense or policy approval.
Trusting “100% Accurate” Claims
An outside tool does not have complete access to another creator’s private YouTube Studio account.
Applying the Moment the Counter Turns Green
Before applying, audit the videos most likely to shape YouTube’s view of the channel.
Building for Approval Instead of Building for Viewers
Creators sometimes optimize for the minimum threshold and produce repetitive content as quickly as possible.
That may help a counter move. It does not build a resilient channel.
The best protection against monetization rejection is not a clever checker. It is a channel with clear authorship, real viewer value and a repeatable but original content strategy.
Final Verdict
The best YouTube monetization checker for your own channel is YouTube Studio Earn. It is the only option connected directly to your account’s real eligibility and application status.
For competitor research, Mega Creative offers one of the most detailed multi-signal approaches, while Viddar provides a fast web-based check with unusually clear caveats. NicheProwler is the better choice when you care about monetization readiness rather than a binary status.
The most important conclusion is simple:
No public YouTube monetization checker can guarantee that a channel will be approved.
Public tools can check thresholds, visible features and technical signals. YouTube still reviews the channel’s originality, authenticity, policy compliance and overall content.
Use the checker to understand the current position. Then build a channel that deserves to pass the review.
Frequently Asked Questions
How can I check whether my YouTube channel is monetized?
Open YouTube Studio, select Earn, and review your current eligibility or application status. This is the only official method for checking your own channel.
Can I check whether someone else’s YouTube channel is monetized?
You can estimate it using public signals such as memberships, Super Thanks, Store access, advertising patterns and third-party checker results. You cannot access the owner’s private YouTube Studio monetization dashboard without their permission.
Are YouTube monetization checkers accurate?
They can be accurate when reporting public information such as subscriber count. Monetization-status results are estimates unless they come from the channel owner’s YouTube Studio account.
Accuracy generally improves when the tool combines several independent signals and shows a confidence level.
Does seeing ads mean a YouTube channel is monetized?
No. YouTube can display ads on videos from channels outside YPP, and copyright owners may monetize claimed content. Seeing an ad does not prove that the uploader receives the revenue.
Can a channel be monetized with fewer than 1,000 subscribers?
In eligible countries, the expanded YPP can provide access to certain fan-funding and Shopping features from the lower 500-subscriber threshold when the other requirements are met.
Full advertising-revenue sharing generally requires the higher 1,000-subscriber threshold and the applicable watch-hour or Shorts-view requirement.
A previously monetized channel may also fall below 1,000 subscribers without losing access immediately solely because of that decline.
Does reaching 1,000 subscribers guarantee monetization?
No. The channel must also satisfy the applicable watch-hour or Shorts-view threshold, account requirements and YouTube policies. YouTube reviews the channel before granting approval.
Can a monetization checker see my watch hours?
A public third-party tool cannot see the valid public watch-hour total displayed privately inside your YouTube Studio Earn page unless you explicitly authorize access through a supported integration.
Tools that show estimated watch hours are calculating an approximation, not retrieving the official YPP counter.
Can AI-generated YouTube channels be monetized?
AI assistance is not automatically disqualifying. YouTube’s policies focus on whether content is original, authentic, valuable and not generic, repetitive or mass-produced.
A channel that uses AI as part of a substantive creative workflow is different from one publishing interchangeable videos with minimal human contribution.
What is the difference between reused content and copyright infringement?
Copyright concerns ownership and authorized use of protected material. YouTube’s reused-content monetization policy evaluates whether a channel adds enough original commentary, modification, education or entertainment value.
Content can avoid a copyright claim but still fail a reused-content review.
Can YouTube remove monetization after approving a channel?
Yes. YouTube continuously reviews monetized channels for compliance. Monetization can be limited, suspended or removed after approval if the channel violates applicable policies or becomes inactive under YouTube’s rules.
What should I do before applying for YPP?
Audit your most-viewed videos, newest uploads, largest watch-time sources, metadata and About section. Make sure your contribution is clear, the videos offer materially different value, and third-party materials have been substantively transformed.
Then check the official Earn page and apply through YouTube Studio.
